Hey y’all hey! Now of course my blog gotta start talking smack as soon as I logged on; saying I haven’t blogged in four months! Four months!?!? ….now that makes no sense at all; but I do have purty dress to share this afternoon…. and I’ve been sewing a’plenty during my hiatus but alas, no sharing and for that I apologize…
This afternoon I present my latest make: McCall’s Fashion Star M6552 (this pattern debuted in 2012)….I so miss that show a whole lot…the contestants made designs for Macy’s, Saks, and similar chains….I like Project Runway too and get quite wrapped up in the designs but they are so NOT ME……very beautiful, well some of ’em….but the majority of the others are just not my forte’ at all….but I basically liked everything I saw on Fashion Star….the clothes were “normal” instead of some crazy challenge garment made with parachute material!….anyway, this is one of ’em…..
First of all the fabric just feeds my soul y’all, it’s the modern retro thing I do like all the time so it just works you know?….I snagged the fabric from Fabric Mart a few months back…the description is just as awesome as the fabric itself: “Plum/Stone Blue/Goldenrod/Multi Large Retro Floral Print Rayon/L” <—COOL, amiright??….I cut the medium; only because if I would have cut the small “the girls” would have protruded so far out my favorite guy would have certainly been quite concerned…the large would have the same effect with the addition of the neckline dropping down a little too far South….Remember J. Lo’s little green number??…not a good look at the grocery store or family BBQ yikes! …..the neckline is hella fierce though with the deep “V”, which is one of my favorite features of the pattern….the pattern was labeled “easy” which it actually was for a nice change…..there were only three main pattern pieces with a neckline facing and drawstring for the other two…..Made a couple modifications to the pattern though….the drawstring was cut out, casing sewn in and everything only for me NOT to like that feature with the fabric after the fact….After careful observation I ended up grabbing Clover (my seam ripper) and taking the channel out….I made a quick sash instead….I suppose I’m a sash kinda gal….although the cinch waist works much better with solids IMO…..This pattern required three yards of prettiness to whip up….
I’m still in the lab (my sewing room) and I’ve been stalking Pinterest for new inspo….Pinterest doesn’t help much though because it makes you want to sew up every damn thang and you can’t make up your mind!…I love that time suck though, I really do…..I have some striped sweater knit swagged on Belle too trying to get the creative wheels rolling….I’ll share the pictures now; maybe I’ll get some ideas from all these patterns and books stuffed in my sewing space….till next time y’all good people! *don’t laugh at my pictures; I’m still refusing to upgrade my little Coolpix or use my guy’s awesome Nikon he has….old habits die hard I suppose*
the prettieness of the hour…..
check out that neckline….I gottsta’ be careful when I wear this little numba’!…..
the pattern of the hour…..
the sewing foot of the hour….
Good evening all! I hope all is well; and I am all right over here too….It has been a super chill weekend for me; I didn’t go anywhere!….I went straight home after work on Friday and been here ever since…Its been raining off and on all weekend so I’m taking full advantage of the natural cleanse….I am so spent with all the unfortunate events that I’ve personally experienced lately that I ultimately decided I should just stay home and recharge my batteries so to speak….Overall I’m not complaining but to continue to maintain I have to stay to myself for a bit and gather my thoughts….
Now alone doesn’t mean without my machines; and I’ve been leaning heavily on my craft lately for coping….If I’m not sewing then I’m looking at my magazines for ideas or adding cool pins to my Pinterest boards for inspo….I’ve been sewing stuff since Friday too; I’ve sewn a blazer and matching skirt but my latest make prompted this post….I’ll probably blog the blazer and skirt when I actually wear it so I can show off a pair of my favorite boots….
After my first makes of the weekend the sewing bug kept biting so I decided to whip up Simplicity’s 1950’s Vintage Pattern #1319 View A….I thought about View B; never considered View C until I looked at it a little more closely…..I had cut the pattern out a while ago but I had never got around to sewing it….the pattern only has 7 pattern pieces including the lining…I took to my stash: Pink/Magenta/Multi 100% Novelty Weave Boucle’ Suiting and Tomato Red Poly/Lycra ITY Knit by Maggy London….I snagged ’em from Fabric Mart quite some time ago…they worked well with this pattern and sewed up good!….I made two mistakes while sewing this project and let me tell you that unpicking tweed is real beast-y….it was quite messy too; I mean fibers all over the damn place….No pain, no gain yeah? Yeah.
I scanned the pattern instructions before I got started and wrote down a few modifications…I added extra bunching on the sleeves by using a knit for the lining; I lengthened them too…the mock pockets were omitted as well although I still might add those one day….I always love when my ideas make sense and actually work out!…Now when I took the pictures I didn’t take any of the flip side…If I remember to when I wear it I’ll share ’em….And speaking of pictures let me share some…..Talk to you good folks in a few!
Tis’ purty huh?….I told yall!
Back shot….tweed-y goodness!
Yesteryear for today my way…..
Now this evening I’m feeling very down; one of my cats passed away yesterday out of no where. He wasn’t a senior cat nor was he sick. We just don’t know what happened and needless to say I have quite the headache from the thoughts of him being gone and the tears. I won’t talk to much about it because frankly it’s quite hurtful. Luckily I have sewing as therapy and I promise you I used it today to ease the pain….
I started my first make of the year this past Thursday and it would’ve been finished that day however my Granddaughter came over and took over my night. I was barely able to cut it out between her hiding under the table pulling the fabric down to her wanting me to pick her up. Yesterday was no good because of what I mentioned in the beginning of this post. So today I decided to take my mind off of it all and go ahead and finish my top. This is the second time I’ve sewn this top but the first time I blogged it. If you fancy seeing the first one it’s pictured on my Instagram. Yall, I LOVE this pattern. Like totally LOVE it….its such a easy and cool sew; its just something about those old school patterns that gets me every time. The instructions page is so freshly encouraging and the instructions themselves are always so easy to follow. Such a refreshing change to sewing these “new wave” patterns that are often so purposely difficult and sometimes flat out wrong. I’m a vintage kinda gal for sure.

When they include words like this it makes me think they knew me personally!!! (Even though I was only two at the time!) I mean they mentioned glitter knit come on!!!! Yep, I’ll say the folks at Simplicity know me realllllyyyyy well!
I whipped up Simplicity’s E.S.P #8111; this pattern made its debut in 1977. It’s described as a Misses Pullover Top/the Cowl Neck Top and I cut the 16. It only has 4 pattern pieces with no facings or anything else fussy which makes you wanna whip up ten of ’em in a row! The pattern calls for knits (as usual cause yall know knits are my absolute fave) and I took to my stash and pulled out some sweater knit that was buried under some denim pieces I’m currently hoarding. The fabric’s description was just as cool as the pattern’s are. The fabric is 100% Poly Sheer Fuzzy Sweater Knit in the color “Hyacinth”. Merriam-Webster describes the color as a “light to moderate purple” but I thought about the flower when I saw the color. I got the fabric from Fabric Mart which is doing an beyond awesome job of filling the void of losing my beloved Hancock’s Fabrics by the way. Thank yall folks at Fabric Mart kindly for that too! Okay I’ve rambled long enough so I’ll share the pictures and talk to you good people soon!

Good evening everybody! First off I wanna apologize for the absence but life happens and there is simply no escaping it….believe me I try and try everyday….Not all unpleasant stuff but life still the same….I’m not even complaining either….hell it is what it is…..I’m still here and still buying fabric so I’m leaning towards the “glass is half full (and refillable)” type thing at this point….
I decided for the intro to this year I would show a little bit of my sewing room and stuff in the corners of it….My sewing space is my oasis I swear; I don’t feel anything but LOVE when I’m in there….I have so many things in there that remind me love does still exist in this world and I need reminding more than ever nowadays….a 10×13 photo of my Mama; it’s actually one of her senior pictures…she looks angelic wearing a string of pearls; pretty girls wear pearls you know….there’s a cowrie shell on my inspo wall with a bit of history attached to it given to me from one of my besties….a music box with a tiny bit of storage in the shape of an old school Singer machine; I love Singer machines….a cool card that does a catcall whistle from my Huny; it sits right next to my beloved sewing books…. literally there is sweetness in every corner….and of course my machines and countless pieces of fabric…I have 30lbs. of fabric on the way this week too…I may or may not have a problem! LOL!….I believe the next post will have a newly whipped up garment or at least me wearing some creation(s) I never got around to sharing…..
Next up is a few pictures I snapped earlier in between doing my laundry and cooking dinner….nothing fancy because I’m still refusing to use the new camera but these flicks still show my space and some of the stuff that’s everywhere in there….Well here’s a little peek into my space!….HAPPY NEW YEAR YALL!
That card I was talking about earlier; my ham, sewing books, Best Press starch, and my sewing machine shaped music box….There are some tie-dye kits under my ham but they’re hard to see….Yall see that crab on top of my John Saul books?…I’ve had it ever since I was 15 years old!
Two of my Singer machines; none of them have names except the one on the right….His name is Greyson…Somebody told me that the quality of the Singer machines has gone down….I obviously do NOT agree…my chair pincushion found at Tuesday Morning; another score!
The mug was given to me from a patient; it holds some of my scissors and purty rotary cutter….that tin is from the thrift store and its full of buttons…it was my Mama’s; the buttons and all…the Black purse back there is also full of buttons…that Black and Orange contraption is supposed to be a sharpener but I’ve NEVER used it…..
More scissors and some cool rulers too….I use them quite often now which lets me know my skills are expanding…Yay me amiright????…all three of those containers came from my favorite local thrift store….the mug was made by a crafty person in my family; she got the idea from Pinterest….my wrist pin cushion comes in handy; my back pain has subsided a whole lot ever since I got it….no more awkward twisting trying to hold the fabric and get a pin at the same time!
Super cool pattern paper, my L ruler and yard stick, machine covers and packing tape stuffed in my dye bucket….my Huny put markings on my bucket for accurate measuring–yaaassssssss!!!!!
My Brothas!…my serger is quite loud IMO but it does what I need it to do….the sewing machine has my walking foot on it so I use it quite a bit…very smooth sewing with uniform stitching…. I need a coverstitch machine but I’m waiting on that one good sale….
My Pink Lady….She is here only because she’s Pink….I was not in the market for a new machine nor did I need another one…she sews like a dream though and kinda old school too; she has a manual bobbin!….just as pretty as she can be….
Blue looking wide eyed (he’s a Pound Puppy replica I made in my high school sewing class); he’s the keeper of this corner of sewing stuff which includes stationary in my polka dot duffel bag, my hat boxes handed down to me from my Mama (they’re all stuffed with sewing stuff like bag handles and fat quarters) and a couple of sewing boxes tucked in the back.
Basket o’ trims…there’s so much good stuff in here!….lots of do-dads and knick-knacks all for jazzing stuff up!
Patterns galore, a bolt of muslin, fluff for my GRANDbaby’s doll (I haven’t decided what doll to whip up yet but I did use it to stuff Belle’s bra for fitting), a super cool animal print stool I found at Tuesday Morning…I had been wanting a stool and found the perfect one there….that place has plenty sewing and craft stuff too; check it out if your city has one….they do not disappoint.
More sewing stuff for bag making and my Mama’s tracing wheels….I remember playing with ’em when I was little…ahhhhh nostalgia at its finest….
My out of control fabric stash..a hot mess I’ll tell you what!…I’m due to rearrange it all when the latest shipment comes in…I wanna try rolling my pieces instead of folding em…maybe that’ll give me more room….
My Friend/Sister gave me these; they’re ALL from yesteryear and I LOVE them….I’ve been sewing from them ever since I got em and they’ve since become one of my prized possessions….Sewing is LIFE….
Evening all!….Been messing around in my sewing space ever since I got up this morning…all that time only yielded one item though…a Butterick beauty to be exact; B5815 View C….although this pattern had just 4 pattern pieces the fabric is why it took me ALL DAMN DAY to finish it…I actually started it yesterday; I pinned the main dress pieces with only the sleeve pieces left to pin……when I got up this morning I did that and started cutting….of course the fabric is surfing all over my cutting table; I guess I should have expected it right?**the fabric has palm trees on it and looks really, really beach-y (side eye)….don’t even ask me why I’m all of sudden I’m reaching for the most annoying fabrics (the chiffons, the laces, and shantungs) that live in my stash but they have been catching my eye for the last few sewing sessions….I’m even thinking of sewing my next project in some more slinky arse fabric wtf?……I guess I like living on the edge?….the irked edge at that….for this dress I used a Maggy London 100% poly chiffon with Blueberry palm trees printed on a White background; bought from Fabric Mart…I knew all too well the fabric would get on my nerves but the print was all ‘dat so I snagged a couple yards of it….I LOVE PRINTS and my fabric stash displays my devotion….
This is my 3rd time making this pattern; I really like it…the first go ’round I used a pretty arse printed knit that I cut waaaaaayyyy too big…I botched the sleeves pretty bad too so I now wear it as a gown….the second time I made the pattern I made the top view in a super cute printed cotton…that was the BEST make using this pattern…all the different fabrics draped differently and beautifully….the top version is my favorite make with this pattern and I have yet to make the tunic version….I may not make that version though because I plan to wear this make as a tunic….all three views have the super girly tulip sleeves which I so love….I facked up the neckline twice on this dress which forced me to unpick the delicate fabric for at least an hour or so…ugggghhhhh….and after all that damn unpicking it still looked a mess when I sewed it back up….I shoulda’ did a rolled hem but I was already cussing and the rolled hem would have just added fuel to the fire…so instead I just ranted and raved a little bit and moved on….I finally finish it and the Critic (my Huny) comes in to share his opinion….His words were: “you can see right through it; I don’t know about all that but its nice though Babe”….I’ll take that as he likes it and he’ll be inspecting my outfit when I decide to wear it smh…That guy I tell ya’!….
I guess I’ll share the pictures now…Who’s been sewing with the slinkiest of slinky fabrics lately?….Do you like sewing with them? Why or why not?….My favorite fabrics to sew with are knits and cottons?…what are your favorite fabrics to work with?….Share with a Sista!…Talk to you good folks soon!
Butterick B5815 View C in chiffon; in effin chiffon! oh hell no….
the back; the pattern called for cutting both pieces on the fold but I always cut two back pieces to distinguish the front from the back…..MsKRS’ sewing hack #15
Pattern of the night! Butterick is all right with me!
Good evening good people!….I’m sitting here looking at my dressforms all prettied up with my some recent makes….this post of course isn’t about those! LOL!…its about a cool little top I made right before these; well sort of….Belle is wearing an outfit from a week or so ago and Pink Cookie is wearing a dress I finished this morning….Hopefully by tonight I’ll have something new whipped up to dress ’em in….
Has anybody noticed the Tent dress trend?…I like it a whole lot because its very free-flowing and comfy..I remember wearing this style as a kid and dressing my daughter in them too….its sweltering around here nowadays; a tight or clingy dress may fare a tad bit too damned warm anyway…..the Tent dress is right one time….On my way home from work the other day I stopped by one of my newly favorite stores (Hobby Lobby) and bought some new patterns….they were on sale for a dollar so I bought five of ’em…I just flipped through a couple drawers and grabbed ones I liked… so when the sewing bug said sew that style I just so happened to have a Tent dress pattern….Sewing is cool like that…things always come together one way or another….I’ve made quite a few dresses lately despite me always needing more tops….the pattern had a tent top view so I made that one…this time I followed the pattern’s fabric suggestion a bit by choosing a quilting cotton…..By looking at the pattern I knew I would use this print from my stash….labeled Aqua/Purple/Multi 100% quilting cotton retro print 44W; the groovy goodness made for the cutest little shirt…I whipped up Simplicity 1105 View C….the tie in the back is the cutest accessory eva’….
Now I hardly ever do a pattern review but for this one I wanted to include a little something more than the usual “I liked it” or “I’ll sew it again”….I’ve been sewing for a minute now so patterns are quite easy for me to follow especially if my laziness doesn’t hinder my marking abilities…but this particular pattern is very good….it came together nicely and the instructions were very easy to follow….patterns are sometimes sooooo beyond hard to understand….with this pattern its quite easy and I like that…..just thought I’d say so….Go Simplicity!!! I’ll share the pictures now….I’m going to look at Pinterest for a minute to review my pins for inspiration….talk to you good folks soon!
Well good evening all!…I’ve done all my laundry ahead of time for once so this evening I’m just sewing and being forced to binge watch Gotham….My Huny has somehow discovered the TV show Gotham (I say discovered because he works A LOT so he rarely has time to watch TV) and he is STILL watching it right now as I write this!…At least it’s a pretty good show; and I probably know more about Oswald Cobblepot (the Penguin) than anyone would ever need to! LOL!…Before this show obsession he binged on Orange Is The New Black, before that it was the Walking Dead…Interesting layout no?…Yep! ~~I wonder what’s up next~~
Now the Water Lily thing in the title is a little tidbit of a quote from Blanche Deveraux; as in the Golden Girls…Her and Dorothy were talking about something and Blanche was giving one of her special pieces of advice…She referred to herself as Water Lily and it cracked me up!! Especially the look on Dorothy’s face like are you serious?!?!….Hilarious I’m telling you!!…And my new top is ALL Lily….the bloom on my top is more likely a Tiger Lily; but still mighty pretty….I whipped it up using McCall’s M7195 and sewed View A….I made it before but I used a knit fabric and heavy cuffs….This go ’round I used a slinky fabric like the pattern calls for….The pattern suggested Challis, Crepe, and Charmeuse…..I don’t know what my fabric actually is although I can track the info down if anyone’s interested…I believe I still have the order slip w/ the description….the fabric came from Fabric Mart and its sold by the panel…..panel fabric always makes for something cool because there isn’t the big chore of pattern matching, just fussy cutting….I took full advantage of this fabric’s paneling with this top….I used a Burgundy rib knit for the neck and arm bands which was another of the pattern’s suggestions…..the fabric didn’t irritate too bad (I don’t really care for sewing with slinky fabrics; ironically my stash is filled with ’em) but it frayed a little…Overall it came together well…I’ll sew it again…..
These pictures are kinda rough…I got tired and didn’t feel like the final press either…suppose I can work all that out when I get ready to wear it…these pictures don’t hardly show the fabric’s pretty shiny thing it has going either….I’ll take more pictures when I wear it to try to show it a little more….
Kinda bummed my weekend is coming to an end….melancholy…but happy to be able to SEW and talk about it….Sharing pictures now and I’ll talk to you good folks soon!….
Pretty top amiright!….I keep staring at it….mainly because I didn’t say any ‘cusswords while sewing it….well maybe a few….
Shot of the back….Lily goodness all over….
the pattern of the hour…..
Evenin’ everybody!…I’m sitting here watching the telly, thumbing through my sewing magazines, and anticipating whatever fresh hell I’ll encounter tomorrow in the workplace….I’ve been sewing my little heart out ever since I got home from work Friday evening; I just freshened up and decided I may as well blog again….I’ve made some super cute stuff this weekend but this post is about the odd one….I mean to do the best I can to show my makes as I create and wear ’em….
This post is about the dress whose identity was changed in my secret sewing society….My new two piece was supposed to New Look’s View C; a dress….I’d had it cut out for at least three months but for some reason I kept getting frustrated with it….its not a particularly difficult pattern; it just gave me the blues every time I tried to put it together…I went back to it 3 or 4 times before I stashed it in my Basket of Shame (a basket that holds UFOs, half arsed muslins, and other goings on) ….I cleaned and dusted my sewing space last night and this morning got up to go through the contents of the Basket of Shame and I found my project in there waiting…some pieces were still pinned together; and to my surprise the bodice was partially completed….I had even installed the required zipper! (which I hardly ever do with such a light fabric and I don’t even remember when I did that!)….as I went through the pieces I came to the realization that I couldn’t bare to throw them in the scrap pile….I thought about it for a minute or two and went to work….I ended up with a two piece ensemble that is kinda all right if I do say so myself….I used the extra fabric for my usual sash which will probably look much better as a head wrap….the pockets didn’t bother the drape with my alteration so I kept em….I did away with the neck facings well because frankly they made the neck too heavy and awkward looking….the fabric is so light; which I didn’t know as I buy a lot of my fabric sight unseen if you will…when it gets here I inspect it and stash it away….I love every piece though…the top features those comfy kimono sleeves so this outfit turned out to be a go after all….Besides me being a pack rat I always keep my “mistake” projects….I turn em into something else sooner or later probably because I can’t stand to part with the fabric (pack rat syndrome)….I’m glad I kept this one; I free styled my arse off and came up with some good stuff….Sewing is just cool like that…..
Any body working on a project that turned into something else?….What’s on the sewing table?…UFOs and crazy looking muslins like myself?..Let me know!..I have some pictures to share and I’ll talk to you good folks soon….
Shot of the zipper….its a pretty cool install too…when I inspected it today I thought to myself, “why did I not finish this dress?”….I got nothing; maybe because it wasn’t meant to be a dress for me…(shrugs shoulders)
My sash/head wrap…..I’m leaning more towards head wrap because I won’t have to deal with my hair when I wear this…that’s if it doesn’t look too “matchy-matchy”….
My new two piece outfit!…its hard to tell its a two piece but if you look really close you can kinda see….I didn’t know how to feel about it at first; it was giving me a 70’s kinda vibe…but now every time I look at it I like a little more….Pink Cookie is still wearing it and wearing it well…it turned out nice amiright?…..
Kinda sorta side shot….the two piece thing is more visible here….
the neck and zip…..this fabric is cool….I won’t buy it again because its on the thin side but in its defense it was inexpensive…
Saturday afternoons are usually always good so I wont spend time asking if everyone is okay…you should be and if you’re not fix it!….I’m doing my usual; admiring my ever-growing fabric stash, sewing up pretties, and half-arsed watching Frasier….**by the way does anyone know why Netflix asks if you’re still watching all the time?…I mean if I’m still paying for it then I’m still watching it amiright?**…such is life I suppose….It’s too damned HOT (its 110 degrees today smh) to go outside so I’m one of the lucky ones; you know with something beyond cool to do inside….So as soon as I got up I went to work on a new dress that I cut out last night at like one in the morning….My Huny broke my mojo all up by needing breakfast though….I went on ‘head and cooked for him but man o’ man he betta’ be glad I love him; like a lot because I was mid-sew! LOL!
Now this post is to introduce my new linen beauty I finished a little while ago…I’ve been working on it all morning; I had a lot of ideas for this dress….it called for a zipper on the side but after pinning it on twice I opted to eliminate it…the fabric just wasn’t strong enough….the cool vintage zipper I was going to use was quite light too but it made the side look so jumbled up….I usually don’t use hardware on such dresses anyway unless it’s the occasional hook and eye; maybe a button or two….the pattern called for plenty 0′ gathering too….every piece called for it which made for such a pretty, girly dress….the pockets were a cool addition; cause sometimes I leave those off because of the way they make a dress hang….this go round the pockets weren’t a problem….I changed the neckline from the “V” shape to kinda rounded…the “girls” sit better with the rounded neckline hehehehehe…the pattern did have some psycho arse instructions to install the pockets which I completely ignored; mainly because there were different techniques for each pocket….oh hell no…so I just did what I do because its my damn dress and it came out just fine….no offense to the pattern because I love it and definitely have plans to sew it again…the longer version is just too lovely…..this pattern just became a member of my secret sewing society quite recently…For my birthday (it was on the 21st of this month) the Babes and I took a trip to a craft reuse (thrift store) store in Oakland, California….I was in true heaven and my inner pack rat was definitely at home…I found some fabrics and other little trinkets and this pattern was in that haul…Needless to say I was a happy camper when I left that place….
I wanna sew up a couple more things so I’ll stop rambling now and share the pictures of my new make….I need a new camera; any suggestions?…I don’t want to spend thousands of dollars; just trying to upgrade from my old school Nikon CoolPix….talk to you good people soon!
I untangled the necklace before I used it for this photo; mannnnn it was in a giant knot….my boy cat is to blame….
Kimono sleeves….comfy as eva’….this is a cool pattern…first time I’ve ever sewn up a Cynthia Rowley pattern too….
Side shot of my dress!…linen has always been a favorite of mine….the wrinkles always make me happy…..
the pattern of the hour….View C is just everything….its up next when this pattern is called upon again…..
Good evening all!…I hope all is well with everybody; I’m doing all right too….Not doing too much this evening except laundry and relaxing before the work week…but earlier this evening I wrapped up another one of my sewing spells with some mending and UFOs…now I don’t care for repairs; and the UFOs are usually so buried that they continuously go unnoticed but today I didn’t mind it much at all…this mad sewing spell started Saturday….I made quite a few things (I shared them all on Instagram) but this post is about one of the tops…**and I’ll make sure to try and blog about the other stuff too**…
Now this top was the first project of my latest sewing spree…its Butterick’s B6172 View C….I used knits (y’all know I LOVE knits) but I don’t believe it called for ’em….in fact, the view would look extra purty in a slinky fabric I just know it….I’ve had these two knits for a while in my stash and put ’em together to whip up my new top….I didn’t realize the view was to have contrast but my compulsive need to buy fabric allowed me two fabrics that blended together perfectly..My stash game though; yeah buddy! ….Sewing is often just so awesome like that….Rosy color, soft red, mad cool drape, and cut outs make Butterick’s idea for this top A-1…..absolutely love how it came out and cant wait to rock it….I need more tops; I always need more tops…..this pattern I believe has at least 4 views….
Now let me share these pictures because I kinda wanna skim some of my sewing magazines for ideas….so many of them have full size patterns and I’ve never used ’em!…I must remedy that….this Vogue one is too good….Whatchall’ been making?….Direct me to the makes!
Butterick’s B6172 View C in sheer knits…I believe the Rose colored knit came from Fabric Mart and the other one I got from Hancock’s….I’m STILL sad about Hancock’s….uggggghhh WTF…..
Side one; notice it only shows one layer from this side…..
Back shot of the pretty flowers…I love this fabric…I had been hoarding it of course because it was too pretty to cut…I got this pattern and thought: “Okay I guess I can cut it now”….
Side two; check out the layers that show on this side….darlin’ huh?….just darlin’….and the top looks complicated but so isn’t….very cool I tell ya’ what! (in my Hank Hill voice)
Toooooo pretty….hashtag sew all the knits!!!!!
